I have been keen on speaking to young adults. Thankfully, I do get opportunities to speak to 15 – 18 year olds. On July 15, I facilitated the orientation programme for the 11 grade students at the Union Christian School, Chennai. The topics covered were 1) the power of purpose, 2) Where are we headed to? (Goal setting) 3) Making the most of everyday (Time management) 4) The power of now (beating procastination) 5) Emotional Intelligence (handling difficult interactions) and 6) The power of discipline.
About 100 students attended the day long programme which included games, group activity, reflective excercises and videos. The talks were based on clips from popular films. The students were encouraged to take atleast 3 decisions and back it up with discipline that is required for it.
